Facilities Time Reporting
Facility time is the provision of paid or unpaid time off from an employee's normal role to undertake trade union duties and activities as a trade union representative. Under the Trade Union (Facility Time Publication Requirements) Regulations 2017, the Trust as a relevant public sector employer is now required to collect and publish, on an annual basis, a range of data in relation to their employees who are trade union representatives.
In 2023-24 the Trust had 11 employees (2022-23 – 4) who were trade union representatives who spent less than 50% of their time on trade union activities. The total cost of facility time was £8,620 (1.31% of the Trust's total pay bill) (2022-23 - £4,350, (0.03% of the Trust’s total pay bill)). The Trust increased in size following a merger which accounts number of representatives. The relative increase in facility time links to consultation meetings relating to the merger and regular release time (less than 10%) at one school.
